SAIC Frederick: Supporting the National Cancer Institute
A repeat customer. As the AVP/Director for Public Affairs at SAIC, I produced a corporate video on SAIC Frederick. As a communications consultant, they came back to me to produce another short video on SAIC Frederick’s Advanced Technology Program (ATP), an organization that provides cutting edge expertise and technology to support NCI investigators and scientists around the world. The leadership team within the ATP wanted to produce a video that would tell their successful stories to the various medical and cancer research communities. I served as producer, director, writer and narrator.
The ATP’s story was quite obvious: It offers highly complex problem solving services to these research communities, and continues to seek ways to help scientists attain their experimental goals quickly, and plays a critical role in translating research at the bench so these discoveries can be used in clinics. The dedication within the various ATP teams was outstanding, the passion quite clear.
The hard part? Keeping it simple, yet making it appeal to a sophisticated audience. The solution? Let the characters tell ATP’s special stories. How? By obtaining and using compelling interviews, a solid script to bind it together, creative camera work and ingenious lighting.
